I've been running the Domino 6.x and 7.x servers on various Debian 3.x servers with good results. Debian, as you may know, is a very widely supported Linux flavor, and the basis for many distributions.
We started running on Debian as my data center had excellent support for Debian (and not so much for RHEL or SUSE). This data center has hundreds of directly connected servers on the Internet, and seldom has issues with security, mostly due to running minimal configs (<100 processes) and tight configurations.
Now, when we go to install Domino on Linux for a client (customer), then we are faced with installing a "supported" RHEL version, with all its "bloat" and inherent risks (and complexity) of unnecessary installed software.
It would seem to me that IBM/Lotus would "sanction" Debian as a logical Linux distribution, at least for Domino.
Any chance of this in my lifetime?
